How you may ask? Quite simply.
Hypnotherapy. This is extremely different from hypnosis performed by a
hypnotist. Stage hypnotists ARE NOT hypnotherapists. They are entertainers and
people who agree to undergo their suggestions also desire to be involved in
entertaining as well or their minds would not allow the suggestions given to
them. Board certified hypnotherapists, such as myself, would never discredit
the healing qualities of this wonderful healing modality by suggesting or
instructing that one act ridiculously in front of an audience or anywhere
else.
The term hypnotherapy was derived
from the words “hypnos” and “therapeau” meaning “sleep” and
“God’s work”. So you see, the term is technically defined as “God’s
work through a sleep like state." Hypnotherapy is an altered state that
lies between awake and sleep. It is a state of consciousness brought about
through the use of concentration, relaxation, suggestion and expectation. The
same state you are in when in prayer, meditation, imagery or visualization
work, progressive relaxation, and even watching television. You are always
aware of everything you do or say. No one can make you do anything that is
against your will while in this state. YOU are always in control and MUST be
in agreement of any suggestions given in a healing session.
There are many fallacies,
misconceptions, and misinformation concerning hypnotherapy when in fact it is
a valuable approach to healing that has been scientifically researched by some
of the leading medical and psychological authorities of our time and has had
years of study and practical experience.
Have you ever used the power of
positive thinking? What you think or believe to be true can be very powerful
in wellness and healing. Your body responds to mental messages. In doing so,
you are reaffirming old negative thoughts, beliefs or habits by creating new,
positive messages. Utilizing the tool of hypnotherapy can aid and benefit your
health, healing processes, wellness and the manifestation of a positive
outlook on your life. A heightened state of awareness is obtained which allows
the mind to focus, learn, and create and retain powerful messages for healing.
There are many different types
of sessions that one can experience for healing such as, problem solving,
stress reduction, pain control, pre and post-operative anxiety, child
birthing, rebirthing, freedom from addictions, weight control, inner
child work, self worth, age regression, clearing and healing of past
traumas and abuse, understanding where illness lies in your body and
why it is present in your body, fears and phobias, depression, anger,
grief and guilt issues, soul loss, soul retrieval, souls purpose, soul
room work, memory recall of life experiences, dealing with issues or
loss of those who have passed on before you and past life regression.
(You may not believe in some of these and that is okay but that doesn‘t
mean you should discredit the entire field and its validity or its valuable
healing qualities).
Whether your problem is physical,
mental, emotional or spiritual, hypnotherapy can help you go to the first time
for the reason your problem exists. IT IS SO POWERFUL, SO PROFOUND! Just as I
do in my naturopathic work in finding the root cause of disease and illness,
so it is also, with hypnotherapy. We find the root cause and heal the problem.
No masking symptoms or emotions with Prozac™ or psychotherapy where someone
else tells you what’s wrong with you. You have the key, the answers are
within yourself and I am only the guide that leads you into your healing. YOU
carry the information deep within your core being, your soul self. YOUR
subconscious mind is what leads you through your journey into DISCOVERING

Each hypnotherapy session begins with an in depth Pre-Talk
Session.
At
this time I will explain the process to you, answer any questions you may have and also clear up any
misconceptions you may also have about the process. This time spent also
allows you, the client, to open up (consciously and sub-consciously)
about particular issues and
offers you time to get acquainted with myself, the practitioner, so that you
feel completely comfortable going into the actual session. This introductory
part of the session allows you to begin to gain a trust in the sharing
process. We then move into the actual Hypnotherapy Session/Induction
and again share in Post-Talk or Review.
